Malone, Ed.D., left, member of the Sarasota County Public Hospital Board, and NICU Manager Debbie Harman. The NICU, which is located in the hospital’s new Courtyard Tower, will open later in 2013. Sarasota Memorial is the only hospital in the county with a NICU and obstetrical services. The units located in the new tower replace 1950s- and 1960s-era facilities in the hospital.

SMH Cardiovascular Surgery Chief Jeffrey Sell, MD, second from left, and SMH CEO Gwen MacKenzie, right, describe how the hybrid room is an important springboard for collaboration in new surgical approaches.
