A Medical Group Management Association report recently named Sarasota Memorial’s First Physicians Group as a “better performer” because of the medical practice’s superior operational performance compared with similar practices nationwide.

The national MGMA report profiles medical practices that have demonstrated success in one or more areas of operation related to financial management and customer service.

First Physicians Group has received MGMA recognition for its superior performance for seven of the last eight years.

The medical group includes 43 physicians and nine physicians’ assistants/ARNPs in 12 locations.

Congratulations also go to First Physicians Chief Operating Officer Ilene Gilbert, who was featured on MGMA’s “Practice Leader Spotlight” page on Facebook.

The MGMA distinction is First Physicians Group’s most recent national recognition. During the last several years, the group also has ranked in the top 10 percent of the nation’s practice groups for patient satisfaction, according to Press Ganey customer surveys.
