This week, construction crews, left, are working to remove generators and other equipment before tearing down the facility. Removal of the 1960s-era plant will make way for construction of a new Courtyard Tower at the front of the Sarasota Memorial campus. The hospital’s back-up power and other life-saving utilities now come from a brand-new, state-of-the-art energy center located behind the hospital.
April also will mark the start of construction on a new entrance to the Waldemere Garage. During the project, Waldemere Street and the current garage entrance will remain accessible. Signs will help direct the flow of traffic.
